Selected Stories by Lu Hsun. 1977 Norton library edition, later printing, 255 pages. Hsun was considered the "father of modern Chinese literature." This collection includes A Madman's Diary, a short story based on Gogol's story of the same title and condemns traditional Confucian culture. Hsun went on to translate the works of Marx, while also remaining pessimistic about society.
