Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino

Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino. 1974 Harcourt, Brace, and Jovanovich, first edition, 165 pages .In the New York Times: “Invisible Cities” is a new book by Italy's most original storyteller, Italo Calvino. But this time not a book of stories. Something more.[...]Calvino's elusiveness comes also from the honesty with which he develops his series. “Invisible Cities” is an elegy, autumnal and melancholy."

Condition: Near fine. Appears unread, and includes two dust jackets. From the estate of Marshall Lee, book designer, and I wonder if he designed the inside of the book and this was the copy the publisher gave him. Rare in this condition.

"As this wave from memories flows in, the city soaks it up like a sponge and expands."
