Greene on Capri by Shirley Hazzard. 2000 FSG, first edition, 149 pages. Hazzard was an Australian-American author and essayist best known for her novels Transit of Venus and the Great Fire. Cliffs was her debut, a short-story collection in which all but one of the stories was published in the New Yorker (she was one of the few writers to be discovered in the slush pile). She also had a close friendship with Graham Greene, who is the subject of this memoir.
